San Anselmo is 20 miles north of San Francisco and 1.5 miles west of San Rafael. San Anselmo has gorgeous views of Mount Tamalpais to the south and sits at an elevation of 46 feet.
There are many beautiful homes in San Anselmo, ranging in style from traditional bungalow to contemporary and modern. A beautiful stone castle overlooks San Anselmo. This castle is actually the San Francisco Theological Seminary, which was established in 1892 to train Presbyterian clergy. From the ivy-covered chapel with its enchanting bells tolling the hours to the turrets and towers, this beautiful facility has a delicate, fairy tale look to it.
